If you would like to volunteer at the Conservation District, volunteers come on Mondays from 9-Noon to take on a variety of projects. Feel free to contact the office if you are interested. We use volunteers for light physical work, maintaining the property and intellectual involvement. We also utilize volunteers to help with landowner clinics and hunter education/training classes.
Hunter education involves an occasional need for mentors during spring and fall hunting seasons. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in securing some grant funded positions so we may hire more people. Some of the areas that we are focused on are: barn restoration, habitat restoration, young hunter recruitment and retention, and any conservation principles that can be implemented and demonstrated on the 200 acre property.
If you would like to stick your toe in the water before you jump in, take a walk on the property and see what there is to work with and formulate ideas to share with us.
